Themes aimed at Photo Pros
The new Scrollider theme looks very promising. I especially like that it uses responsive design. However, after speaking with someone in customer service, I was told that the theme is not really geared for photographers and that he saw no real need for such an idea. Woo is one of the best providers of WP themes. There are tens of thousands of photographers who have options like ProPhoto Bogs, Photocrati, Theme Forest, ZenFolio, and PhotoShelter as viable options. So how can Woo develop a theme like Scrollider--which attempts to incorporate a portfolio feature--without thinking there is a market for pro photographers to utilize such a theme if it catered to their specific needs. We need flexible portfolio/slideshow options, social networking integration, and solid eCommerce integration. So far, none of the above-mentioned companies knock it out of the park yet. ZenFolio and PhotoShelter are solid on the eCommerce backend but they don't develop for mobile devices and their gallery layouts are ugly. ProPhoto offers good design but limited options and no responsive design. You get the idea. I'm willing to work with Woo and perhaps other photographers would come on board to help develop a comprehensive photo theme solution

We are planning and gathering info on a professional photo theme/plugin which we could hopefully release next year.

I'm 100% with you on this Glen! It's EXACTLY what I need. The companies like ZF who I have used are nowhere near a pro option and Woo could literally get thousands of photographers using this system if it would work in the right way.
So glad to hear there are some themes and plugins on the way! Going to save me lots of time and money. Might just start a business doing sites for photographers. ;)

I'm using statua right now, and have been working on adapting scrollider for a photo theme to update my site. I love the look of scrollider but it doesn't showcase photos like statua. What I'm having to do is adapt the portfolio template to use woo slider to display attached images using the short code in the template. It would be awesome if it did it right out of the box and readily responsive. I are with the original poster that woo needs better themes for photographers.
