Full stock inventory management
At present the big hole in Woocommerce is the ability to properly get an idea of stock levels for accounting purposes.
For example, there is no "product cost" option so a new field must be created so you can record the cost of a product to yourself as a business owner.
However, even if you add "cost" as a custom field, there is no simple way at present to get a tally of all of the stock value in a store, or even to get a tally of retail stock value.
If Woothemes can address this simple basic issue, you would have all bases covered that helps all of us who have to buy products in to sell, and make Woocommerce a very serious ecommerce platform.
This isn’t on our short-term roadmap, but we recently found this service which could fill the need: http://inventory.productpier.com/

I am res-posting Jason Idea for COG Plug In:

I think in order to make this work it needs to be structured around a cost-of-goods model. There are already fields for price and sale price, so what you really need is:1. a new meta item for COG
2. additions to reporting:
A) Overview Tab to Include Total Profit
B) Sales by Day and Sales by Month Tabs to include average order profit
C) New Tabs similar to Top Earners that show highest profit earning items and lowest profit earning items. This plugin would help so much for my business. Will this be in the new version 2.0?

Must agree on this!
In addition to that, I would just like to be able to see the sum which the stock would bring in if all products were sold to the current prices (and backorders would just work on this sum negatively).
There is already a column called "Stock" under Reports. It could all be incorporated here.

Any updates? This is a wonderful idea! I'd love something like that. It would be cool if each shop could have the option of curate products from the one inventory to create little niches or show all of them. It would need a wholesale pricing structure as well or commission. I was going for a multi-store plugin but decided to go with woocommerce because of the themes I found, but now I'm kicking myself because the multisite plugins don't play nice with woocommerce

Hi Ryan! I work for Stitch Labs - we're a free order and inventory management system. We integrate directly with Etsy, and if you stick with just one integration, our software is free to use. We don't currently integrate with WooCommerce, but you could update your inventory manually. I encourage you to check it out and let me know what you think! http://www.stitchlabs.com/

I would love to be able to track profit like this on each item. I would imagine we would just have a Cost field when entering a product. Then the plugin would calculate profit after sale.

Great idea - any progress on this? Even though WPMU available for multiple currencies its a massive SEO killer if you already have numerous sites setup and ranking for their countries keywords. Single inventory would be ideal.
