Drop Shipping
Drop Shipping Feature Request
Hi,
I would be grateful for a Drop Shipping feature to be available for Woocommerce for transactions where my web clients order is forwarded to my supplier who then ships direct to my client.
Currently, there isn't an option within Woocommerce that supports this, unlike OrderStorm which seems to comprehensively handle this within the plug-in.
I look forward to hearing everyone's comments. This would be a very worthwhile feature with so many websites now handling orders through 3rd party suppliers who ship direct.
Many thanks,
Mark
Advanced notifications can be used to send notifications to drop shippers (containing only relevant items): http://www.woothemes.com/extension/advanced-notifications/
If you would like to see additional drop-shipper specific options added to this extension please make separate ideas so we can get them built into it. Thanks!

Any news about when/if the dropship extension will be developed? Have a client that needs this and would love to use WooCommerce for the project.

If there was a Drop Ship feature that could send an order directly to my supplier, in their required format, I would load this pluggin in a second...

this is a Good idea. A dropship plugin is needed. my dropshippers want the ability to send this notification then the company sending the goods clicks a link which logs them in to see the order page and update the tracking number and sent status of that portion of the order. That would be a cool plugin

I'm also looking to solve this issue. Ordoro (https://www.ordoro.com/) have a nice solution that integrates with the likes of BigCommerce and Shopify. Perhaps they would be keen to develop an extension...

@Chris... thank you for pointing this out! I guess that should really do the trick to get started!
@Tina... you are right, but as a starting point an (back)order eMail should really count as an order for every seller! And maybe that plugins gets an appropriate upgrade to handle those API requests as well... that would be perfect! -

It would be great to mix this with the Multi Vendor idea, so anyone could upload and manage their own (affiliate) products and earn a commision from it. It would be nice to control that optional notice on product level, so you could built up a customized catalog with any goods from different local or dropshipping sources.

@Chris Notifications are not the same. Most drop shippers don't just want an email with the data, the want a file that integrates directly with their system that is uploaded through their fpt servers.
Notifications is a great option if your drop shipper accepts email orders but most don't.

The Notifications Pro extension can allow you to send order emails to a drop shipper.

YES! This should be simple enough since an extention has already been developed to export orders into CSV (which I assume is done through xml) so it's just a matter of creating another export format.
ANSI x.12 and EDIFACT are the two major formats accepted for EDI (electronic data interchange) to third parties that handle dropshipping (Item 7.6 in this document explains the two different formats and their use: http://www.ias.ac.in/sadhana/Pdf2005AprJun/Pe1295.pdf).
Looking forward to this.
